Hostel is where students live at a residential school, college or university. It is also used for place of residence for young professionals who live in a city.

"Arey Yaar! remember the great times we used to have in the hostel"
"Yaa ! do you remember the time Ajay was so drunk - we made him a sandwich with modern bread, Amul butter and toothpaste and he happily ate it. Next day he was totally pissed off with us"

Smart people who are not great at academics, formal studies or examinations don't stand a good chance of getting a string of alphabets behind their names - like BSc, MBBS, MBA, BTech etc, easily.

Such people have to resort to payment for degree route and enroll in DONATION COLLEGES. This can be because they are not academically competitive or because they want admission at a particular location and did not otherwise qualify (close to their hometown, or same college where their girl friend or boy friend is studying)

They use various arguments and persuasion to win over their parents to part with and donate some large amount of money to the college in exchange for a seat in the college.

Depending on circumstances, some of this money can be recovered in the marraige market through a shrewd dowry deal.

Usage

Vimladevi telling her friend Sarlakumari about Sukumar.

"He did not get admission anywhere and may have to find some donation college seat to join. Even those are almost full."

Definition

Due to parental and other pressure to just pass exams, move on in life or progress towards marraige market etc several students resort to creative methods or crowd sourcing answers - to pass exams.

Basically means cheating in any exam and this can have many methods:

1. Using hidden paper chits in shoes, pant seams or notes between fingers etc

2. Using classmates (whispering or chit method) - this is considered a democratic way to share knowledge

3. Using strategically hidden text books in bathrooms, empty rooms or in some bushy areas near exam hall.

4. Using SMS

5. Directly bringing textbooks and notes to exam hall (option available in some states - where invigilators can be threatened with dire consequences).

Usage

"Shamsher's son is BA. He can barely read. Useless rogue! I am surprised he was able to even copy properly in his exams. He has 23 cases against him. Maybe he can contest next election"
