Derived from the word "Zandu Balm" (Peeda haadi balm) which is a Pain relief balm popularly available in the Indian market. It also has some connections to the word "Jhaant" meaning pubic hair or "Jhantoo" (as an adjective). "Jhandu Balm" can be used to either mean Zandu balm (The peeda haadi balm) and or occasionally to express deep frustrations over a silly or stupid act or person and situations where "Jhaant" or "Jhantoo" are considered too vulgar.

A typical slang widely popular in Poschim Bongo (Formerly West Bengal) and its neighboring states. Literally means "fucking fool" (Boka-fool, choda-fucking/or to fuck). Used by almost all the age groups, this slang finds its way to top of the slang charts in Eastern India and is used in varied situations while conversing.

One with chappan, or 56, pimples, or red dots, on his/her face. Although you don't have to actually count them. Can also be referred to a person who speaks a lot (big mouth person, mouth equal to 56 big tikli's, or dots the size of a woman's bindi).

You've got some weed, you roll up a joint, stick it in an empty cigarette, make a bong, do a chillum, what ever you do, you end up with "Bam Bholey". A phrase relating "smoking weed" to worshipping Lord Shiva (Bholey or BholeyNath).

Referring to Hindi (Indians) and Chini (Chinese) as brothers. This expression was in vogue when Zhou Enlai, the Chinese Premier at the time, visited India and Prime Minister Nehru in 1960. Crowds gathered on the streets to chant this enthusiastically, but things turned a little sour during the 1963 war with China.

Though there might be some political disagreement with this phrase, who cares? Eat your Gobi Manchurian with relish.

Usually found in rice and daal (cereals) bought from the local government ration shop. Refers to adulterants used to adulterate these edibles (remember Teja chewing spoonful of black and white stuff from the movie Mr. India). Sometimes, if not mostly, found at a construction sites or more frequently piled up in the middle of the road besides a flyover construction and thus creating obstruction and traffic jams. Usually a concoction of small stones (various sizes,colors and shapes) and sometimes sand and rubbish (not when in food though).

Not to be confused by a usual Discotheque, where people usually booze and dance. DisCo stands for "Disciplinary Committee" (and hence DisCo) which is a governing body in most of the Universities and engineering colleges across the country, for taking Disciplinary action against students involved in malicious activities like doping, beating up the guard while drunk, tease girls, ragging juniors, sexual harassement, mob fight, and oh! cheating in exams too (though that was the primary motive at the beginning). However, the primary agenda diminished as we stepped into the 21st century and most of the geek men/women now, who are out of college, brag in their facebook pages that they were once actioned upon by the DisCo, as if it were a matter of pride, and some wish that those DisCo days are back being a bit too nostalgic. DisCo has its own wannabes and its own victims who suffered for a not so noble cause. After all, its a matter of pride!!

Refers to a popular dish made by burning an EggPlant (or Brinjal - in desi terms). You read it right!! Burn an eggplant, clean the burnt skin, smash and squash it with both of your bare hands, mix some vegetable oil, Mirchi (Chili), onions, and salt (as per taste) till it looks so horrendous that you would probably loose all intentions to eat it. This slimy little bastard is un-believably delicious and is known in almost all parts of the country. Best suits with steamed rice, roti (or Chapathi/Chapatti - for people who have trouble understanding what "Roti" is), and sometimes can be savored alone.
