A fictional town, somewhere in Karnataka, created by that genius, that one and only RK Narayan. The protagonist of all his stories is the affable kid Swami. Along with his friends, Swami is involved in a series of mostly hilarious episodes of fun, trouble and frolic.
Malgudi has everything a village in South India would have, created with imagination by Narayan with Tolkienish detail.
The ensemble was cast into a popular serial "Malgudi Days"

Fictional town created by R.K. Narayan for his greatest book "Swami and friends". He describes it as a city few hours away from Madras on the banks of River Sarayu. Predominant tamil population located fictionally in the erstwhile British Indian Presidency of Madras State
Usage
It is predominantly used to refer singer Malgadi Shuba a judge on a reality show by an annoying host ; the word Malgadi changed to malgudi
